Yong-Sok SHIN

Patent Attorney

Yong-Sok Shin has significant experience in prosecuting patent applications before the Korean Intellectual Property Office in the technical field of machines, including semiconductor devices, automobiles, machine control and designs.

Since joining Lee International IP & Law in 2007, Mr. Shin has handled patent cases in a wide range of mechanical engineering technologies, including automobiles, semiconductor manufacturing devices, mobile devices, lighting devices, electronic appliances, automobile parts, architectural technology and aerospace technology, on behalf of global companies. He has handled appeals before the Intellectual Property Tribunal, the Intellectual Property High Court and the Korea Supreme Court to obtain patent registrations. He has extensive experience in prior art searches, patent infringement analyses, invalidation trials, scope confirmation trials and infringement actions.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Shin worked at Aero-Technology Research Institute (ATRI) of the Korean Air Force for three years. In ATRI, he conducted failure analyses and localization of aircraft parts.

Mr. Shin is a graduate of POSTECH(Pohang Science and Technology University) (B.S., mechanical engineering, 2001) and University of New Hampshire -Franklin Pierce IP Law Center (M.I.P., 2017). He is a member of the Korean Patent Attorneys Association.
