Patent Attorney

Hyun-Sue Sheen has had extensive experience filing patent applications with the KIPO and successfully representing prominent international high technology companies in patent filings, responses to office actions, appeals of final rejections and patent registrations.

Mr. Sheen is a patent attorney at Lee International IP & Law, where he handles overall matters from patent filing to litigation. He has successfully represented many prominent international high-tech companies in patent filings, OA responses, appeals against the decision to reject, and patent registration. He also has in-depth expertise and extensive experience in securing rights to patent in various fields of electronic technology, by successfully representing clients in numerous invalidation trials before the Intellectual Property Tribunal and Appeal Board as well as the Patent Court.

Mr. Sheen authored an article concerning Korean patent practices that was published in a leading magazine that discusses the economy in Asia, The Daily, NNA No. 03320. In 2012, he gave a presentation on “Trends in Revisions to the Korean Patent Act” in a seminar jointly held by the Korean and Japanese Patent Attorneys Associations.

Mr. Sheen is a graduate of Seoul National University with a B.S. in electrical & electronics engineering (2001). He also completed the Japanese language course at Keio University International Center in 2011.

Mr. Sheen is fluent in both English and Japanese and in 2019, he gave a presentation at a seminar held by the Japan Patent Office in Tokyo under the topic of “the latest trends and directions of South Korea’s patent examinations and trials”.
